Bell’s Decor were entrusted to help restore the prestigious Grade I listed manor house at Kingston Maurward in Dorset after a broken pipe allowed water to rush through the three floors of the property for an hour. Fortunately, the quick-thinking staff at Kingston Maurward helped limit the damage from becoming even worse by mopping up water, lifting carpets and drying areas as quickly as possible.
Following an investigation to assess the damage by one of the UK’s leading historic plaster and paint experts, our historic building repairs and decoration services were called upon to help restore the building to beauty once again. The main focus of the decorative restoration was on the property’s entrance hall and stunning Pengelly Room, both of which are regularly used for weddings, so time really was of the essence to get them back to their former state.
Both the entrance hall and Pengelly Room had extensive detailing on the walls and ceiling which, in order to restore them effectively, required the expert hand of our experienced decorators. To ensure a perfect finish that was faithful to the original design was achieved, and to meet the looming wedding season deadline, our team used our innovative HVLP spray machines on much of the finer detailing. This state-of-the-art technology was chosen because it delivers a soft stream of paint that’s perfectly suited to areas in need of an extra touch of finesse and because it allows the user to work quickly without compromising on the result.
